FY24-25 Micro-mobility Bays Locations

The London Borough of Enfield is becoming involved in a TfL-wide contract starting in 2025. This contract focuses on rented e-bikes and scooters. At the same time, Enfield is setting up Micro-Mobility bays across the borough. They are starting with locations in the south of the A406. This will help support the ongoing needs of the London Borough of Haringey until their contract ends in 2025.

Enfield's plans for healthier streets, in line with the Mayor's Transport Strategy, include improving cycle parking. Setting up these bays on public streets needs approval from the highway authority. The main goal of this project is to make renting cycles and scooters as easy as parking a car.

The Micro-Mobility Bay is a smart solution for quickly converting road space into bike parking. It provides either six or twelve protected spaces, fitting neatly into the same area as a regular car parking bay. This helps keep streets tidy by reducing random bike parking against railings and other street fixtures.

These bays work well for both regular bikes and rental schemes without fixed docking stations. They are built in a modular way, so they can be set up as compact six-space units or larger installations with mixed uses.

When not in use, the bays blend into the surroundings, but when bikes are parked, they help organise the area and reduce clutter. Reflective markings make sure everyone can see the boundaries, especially in low light.
