Edmonton Green: Long- Term Strategy

What is the Edmonton Green Long-Term Strategy?
The long-term strategy for Edmonton Green aims to bring together a series of emerging opportunities for The Green, to present a cohesive strategy of place and integrate it as a proper civic space for the Town Centre.
What area is included as part of the Long-Term Strategy?
The strategy covers the area of the Edmonton Green Town Centre, including Church Street and Fore Street. It will aim at improving the connection between and the conservation area along Fore Street as well as contribute to the wider network of green spaces.
How is the development of the Edmonton Green Long-Term Strategy funded?
The project is funded by the Greater London Authority (GLA) as part of the High Streets Place Lab programme. Edmonton Green is one of 12 high streets across London receiving the fund.
The High Street Place Labs (HSPL) programme helps local high streets to develop strategies that can attract investment and boost economic activity.

What changes are expected following the development of the Long-Term Strategy
No immediate changes are expected to take place in Edmonton Green following the development of the strategy.
Future interventions will be implemented in consultation with Cabinet Members, and subject to statutory consultation over the coming years as funding becomes available.
Is there funding allocated?
There is no funding currently allocated to the delivery of the interventions included in the strategy. The document, to be published in Spring 2026 will be used by the Journeys and Places team to apply for external grant funding to deliver the interventions included in the strategy.
Who owns the railway arches in Edmonton Green?
The arches are owned by Network Rail and are leased to Rail for London. Should the activation of the arches prove feasible, Enfield Council will liaise with them to explore partnerships and uses.
How can the community be involved in the future of Edmonton Green?
A programme of community engagement activities has taken place over the last few months and will continue until early next year. A summary of what we hear from residents and stakeholders through this engagement period will be published in Spring 2026

How will the community be engaged for future improvements?
Further community engagement will be planned during the design development of future interventions, and statutory consultations will take place prior to the delivery of any of the interventions included in the masterplan, once budget becomes available.
