PROJECT UPDATE – 10 September 2025 - Edmonton Green Quieter Neighbourhood Stage 1 Statutory Consultation
We are inviting you to take part in the statutory consultation on draft Traffic Orders TG52/1590 and TG52/1596. These are part of the Edmonton Green Quieter Neighbourhood project, which aims to make the area healthier, greener, and safer for everyone.
Please share your views by 11:59pm on Sunday 5 October 2025.
In September 2023, we spoke with residents, businesses, and other stakeholder to help shape the early designs. We then asked for feedback on the concept designs in January and February 2024. This feedback has informed the proposals now being taken forward.
The proposals feature the following improvements as detailed in draft Traffic Order TG52/1590 (for Quieter Neighbourhood proposals) and TG52/1596 (for School Street proposals).
- A School Street outside Fleecefield and Brettenham Primary Schools, creating a protected zone in front of schools at pick-up and drop-off times
- On-carriageway cycleways with wayfinding signs and markings to help with cyclist navigation
- Footway parking restrictions for improved safety and access for people walking
- Double-yellow lines to improve visibility and safety at junctions
- One-way streets to help manage traffic and reduce conflicts on local streets
- Expansion of existing 20mph speed limits to enhance road safety, reduce collisions, and create a more comfortable environment for walking and cycling
- Expansion of existing Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) to manage parking demand, improve safety, and prioritise space for residents, businesses, and active travel
