May 2025 Update - Project Opening Soon!
We’re pleased to share that the Enfield Town to Broxbourne walking and cycling route will be open for everyone to enjoy by the end of May.
This new route provides a more comfortable and accessible way to walk, wheel or cycle between Enfield Town and Broxbourne. Whether you’re commuting, meeting friends, or just enjoying some time outdoors, the new path offers a safer and more attractive way to travel.
We want to thank everyone for their patience while we’ve been delivering the work. Your understanding and support have helped us to complete this important connection for Enfield and beyond.
Enfield is also proud to be one of the 14 London boroughs taking part in the inaugural London Cycling Festival. To celebrate, we’re hosting a family-friendly led bike ride on Sunday 25 May, which will follow a portion of the new route. Places are free but limited, so please register in advance via the London Cycling Campaign website (here).
Please note that the section of the path north of Bullsmoor Lane remains closed due to Thames Water works near the aqueduct and separate works by Broxbourne Council north of the M25. For updates about these works, please contact Broxbourne Council at highways@broxbourne.gov.uk.
We’re looking forward to seeing people of all ages and abilities making the most of this new route as the days grow longer and warmer.
