Construction works in October – December 2022
Following a decision to implement the on-carriageway part of the Enfield Town to Broxbourne Walking and Cycling Route, Enfield Council are now undertaking the construction works for a section of the project; Churchbury Lane / Parsonage Lane junction and a raised table and chicane on Tenniswood Road. The Enfield Town to Broxbourne Walking and Cycling Route aims to deliver a key active travel link which will provide increased access for residents of Broxbourne and Enfield, contribute towards a long-term increase in the levels of active travel by expanding the wider borough network, improve junctions and crossings to enable more people to walk and cycle safely, and enable the community to make greater use of the New River.
The approximate anticipated start date for this section of works is Monday 10 October 2022 with completion of the works anticipated in December 2022.
A link to the design plans can be found here.
We have planned the construction with the view to minimise inconvenience to the local community as much as possible. However, in order to carry out the works in a safe and efficient manner we will need to introduce temporary traffic measures. These measures will include temporary closures of Churchbury Lane (North) and Churchbury Lane (South) and one lane traffic on sections of Parsonage Road and Tenniswood Road. Access to all properties for vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
