Enfield Wash Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board Takes Shape
We are pleased to share an important update on the progress of the Enfield Wash Pride in Place Programme.
Following the appointment of an independent Chair and completing a recruitment process for board members, the Board has now been established and is beginning its work to help shape the future of Enfield Wash through the Pride in Place Programme.
Independent Chair Appointed
In July 2026, Rick Jewell was appointed as the Independent Chair of the Enfield Wash Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board.
A lifelong Enfield resident who has lived in the borough for over 56 years, and who has spent almost 20 years volunteering to support restorative justice initiatives, Rick brings extensive local knowledge, leadership experience and a strong commitment to community improvement.
Since his appointment, Rick has worked proactively to help establish the Board and support the programme as it begins this important next phase.
Rick was part of the board recruitment process where he played a key role in supporting the selection and appointment of fellow Board members, helping to bring together a group of individuals who reflect the diversity, strengths and ambitions of the local area.

First Board Meeting Held
The Board held its inaugural meeting on 21 September 2026, marking an important milestone in the development of the programme.
The meeting provided an opportunity for members to meet one another, begin building working relationships and discuss the Board's role in supporting the delivery of the programme over the coming years.
Discussions focused on governance arrangements, community engagement and the next steps required to develop a long-term vision and investment plan for Enfield Wash. A key priority for the Board will be the development of the Enfield Wash Pride in Place Plan, which is due to be submitted to the Ministry of Housing, Community and Local Government in February 2027 and will set out priorities and investment in the area over the next ten years.
Transparency and Governance
All documentation relating to the Board will be made publicly available through this page.
The following documents have been approved by the Board and can be found under key documents on this page:
Please note, at their inaugural board meeting, board members requested some changes to the draft Terms of Reference, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies. Once these changes have been approved by the board, these documents will be uploaded.
Minutes from future Board meetings will also be published here, enabling residents and stakeholders to follow the Board's progress and stay informed about key discussions and decisions.
What Happens Next?
Over the coming months, the Board will begin engaging with residents, businesses, community organisations, schools, faith groups and other local stakeholders to better understand the opportunities and priorities for Enfield Wash.
The feedback gathered will help inform the development of the Enfield Wash Pride in Place Plan, which will guide investment and activity in the area over the next decade.
We look forward to sharing further updates as the programme develops and as more opportunities become available for local people to help shape the future of Enfield Wash.
