Celebrating Leeds Street Market's Past, Planning for Its Future

For around 100 years, market traders on Leeds Street Market have brought life, colour and community to Angel Edmonton. More than just a place to shop, it is where neighbours meet and friendships are made.

Charlie, pictured here, is a familiar face on Leeds Street and has been selling fresh vegetables there for over 60 years and continues to serve customers today. His story is just one of many that reflect the market's rich history and its important role in the local community.

As part of the Shaping Edmonton suite of projects, we're exploring opportunities to strengthen and grow Leeds Street Market, building on its heritage while creating a space that works better for traders, businesses, residents and visitors alike. By enhancing both the market and the surrounding public space, we want to ensure Leeds Street becomes a vibrant and successful destination at the heart of Angel Edmonton for generations to come.
