Project Update: Raynham Doorstep Green

Raynham Doorstep Green is improving as part of the Shaping Edmonton programme.

Together with the community, Enfield Council is creating a safer, greener, and more welcoming park for everyone.

Over the last few months, we’ve spoken with local residents and worked closely with young people to understand the challenges and hear their ideas for the future of the park. The plans we are delivering are based on what the community told us matters most.

We’re creating a thriving and happier space for children and families with improvements to the play park. This includes repairing and replacing some of the existing equipment and adding new features such as a basket swing, multi-play unit and play tree. New accessible seating, picnic tables and outdoor exercise equipment will provide spaces for everyone to relax, play and enjoy.

The park will also feel safer and more welcoming thanks to upgraded fencing, decorative entrance gates, and planting around the edges. A new dog exercise area will sit separately from spaces designed for children, and additional bins will help keep the park cleaner for all.

Working with staff and students at Raynham Primary School, we are also exploring the creation of an outdoor classroom; a place for lessons and activities focused on nature and wildlife.

Raynham Doorstep Green is becoming a space where everyone can feel welcome, represented and able to thrive.
