  • Why is this needed?

Residents, commuters, local businesses and others currently compete for limited on-street parking space in Angel Close and Angel Place. Although the area is within the existing South Edmonton Event Day CPZ, this only operates when events are taking place at the near-by Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Additional permit parking controls would offer a better balance to local parking arrangements, giving priority to residents at other times too.

    What options are being considered?

The following options are being considered:

Option A proposes additional controls for one or two hours during the day (Mondays to Fridays) and would be effective in preventing commuter parking associated with people either using Silver Street or working in the local area.

Option B controls parking across each day of the week between 8am and 9pm. In addition to deterring commuters, this would also prevent short-stay parking by shoppers and other visitors to the area. However, this option comes with higher permit prices to account for the extended enforcement activity.

Both options A and B could include provision for business bays in Angel Place if there is demand.
