We would like to seek the views of parks users on our proposals to introduce landscaped features and a 'Mini-Woodland' at Alma Road Recreation Ground (adjacent to Alma Road).
The aim of the project is to introduce raised mounds, wetland scrapes and a 'Mini-Woodland' to the grounds. It is proposed to use the excavated soil from Durants Park wetlands to create shallow mounds in the middle of the park where a 'Mini-Woodland' will also be established. This is the most sustainable way of reusing the excavated material.
The proposals will benefit the site and local area in the following ways:
The enhancement of native biodiversity through the creation of a nature-rich habitat
Improvement of local air quality through the planting of a "Mini-Woodland"
Reconnecting surrounding communities with nature
Please review the consultation documents before you complete the questionnaire.
Deadline for participating in this consultation is 5pm on Sunday 27th February 2022.
