Project Update: Fore Street Bus Lane

Following a 17‑month trial extension of the operating hours of the northbound bus lane on Fore Street, a decision has been made to make the change permanent. This forms part of the TfL-funded Bus Priority programme, which aims to deliver faster and more reliable journeys across London’s bus network.

During the statutory objection period, which ran from September 2024 to November 2025, residents and stakeholders were invited to share objections and representations. We appreciate the time everyone took to provide feedback.

The decision to confirm the Traffic Order is based on a review of both the monitoring data collected throughout the trial and the representations received. The analysis demonstrated an increase in people boarding busses at the bus lane location, improvements to bus journey times through the area, while maintaining acceptable general traffic conditions along Fore Street.
