New communities for Enfield
Enfield's emerging Local Plan proposes two areas in the north of the borough to deliver new sustainable communities that will help meet Enfield's housing need.
The Local Plan sets out the broad planning principles for these areas. This is sometimes called a spatial framework – essentially a high level map showing where new homes, open spaces and facilities could go.
The Council is now progressing this work to develop more detailed masterplans, which will set out how growth can be delivered in a coordinated way to achieve high quality development and placemaking.
You can view the full exhibition boards for both masterplans here:
We welcome residents' input into on what makes a good new community in Enfield
We’d like your views on:
what makes Crews Hill and Chase Park special
priorities for a good neighbourhood
the quality and types of housing needed
open spaces and access to nature,
public transport, walking and cycling connections,
community facilities and local services.
Your feedback will help shape the next iteration of the masterplans, which in turn inform future Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD) or planning guidance. These SPDs can only be formally adopted once the Local Plan is in place (expected in 2026), but the work now will ensure they are ready to guide planning applications as soon as that happens.
Public Exhibition
