Statutory consultation - Seaton Street bike hangar

Enfield Council is committed to enabling more people to walk, wheel, cycle and travel by other forms of active travel. As part of our Journeys and Places programme we provide secure cycle parking in residential areas, town centres, transport hubs and other key destinations.

We are proposing to install a bike hangar outside No. 16-18 Seaton Street N18 2JP, and are writing to you about the statutory consultation on the draft traffic order regarding this bike hangar. A bike hangar is an on-street cycle storage container that is accessible by key to those who have a membership to that hangar (membership costs £12 per year). A lack of space for storing a bike prevents some people from cycling. Bike hangars enable people who do not have much space in their homes to store their bikes securely near to their home. Bike hangars can fit up to six bikes and take up roughly the space on the carriageway needed to park a car.

You can view the design here.

We invite residents and anyone interested to provide an objection or representation to the draft traffic order through the statutory consultation. The statutory consultation is open until midnight on Sunday 17 December 2023. Any objection or representation must be made in writing, quoting the reference TG52/1548 and must state the grounds on which it is made. You can complete this survey to submit your objections or representations, or alternatively:

Following the statutory consultation, a summary of the objections and representations will be produced. Enfield Council will provide a response and use the comments received to make a decision on whether or not to make the proposed changes.
