New School Street for Fleecefield and Brettenham Primary Schools

Following the statutory consultation TG52/1596, the decision has been made to introduce School Streets at Brettenham and Fleecefield Primary Schools. Construction will begin during the week commencing Monday, 8 December 2025.

These projects, part of Enfield Council’s Journeys and Places programme, will increase the total number of School Streets in Enfield to 27. School Streets help create safer and healthier environments for children to travel to school by walking, wheeling, scooting, cycling, and other forms of active and sustainable travel.

The work is scheduled to start during the week commencing 8th December 2025 and is expected to take approximately two weeks, with completion planned for 19th December. If there are any outstanding works, these will be completed in the new year.

Residents and parents have been informed about the upcoming works and will receive further updates when the scheme is ready to launch.

Once live, the School Street will operate between 8:15am to 9:15am and 15:00pm to 15:45pm, Monday to Friday, during school term times, on the streets highlighted on the map below.

Further information about these projects can be found in the Documents section on the right-hand side of this project page.
