Enfield Town Action Team appoints Independent Chair to support ambitious town centre vision

The Enfield Town Action Team, made up of representatives from cultural, voluntary, business and public sector organisations across Enfield Town, has appointed an Independent Chair to support the delivery of its shared vision for a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable town centre.
The group, previously launched as the Enfield Town Steering Group, was established in late 2025 to champion the co-ordination of existing activities and launch new initiatives to improve the town centre. The Chair’s role is funded for one year, supported by Community Infrastructure Levy funding for Enfield Town.
Over the next year, the Chair will support the group’s ambitions, providing strategic, independent and inclusive leadership including developing a fundraising strategy to sustain the group’s activities in future years.
The Action Team worked collaboratively to design a robust Chair recruitment process, ensuring the successful candidate could support its ambitions and reflect the diverse interests of Enfield Town. Following this process, locally based consultant Adrian Day was appointed.
Following the appointment, Adrian Day said:
“I’m excited by the opportunity to help the Enfield Town Action Team revitalise and improve Enfield Town for all. The Town is at the heart of a London borough of over 300,000 people and has great potential to be an important destination for retail, hospitality, work, entertainment, culture and leisure. I have lived in the borough for over 30 years and prior to that fondly remember the excitement of visiting the Town as a child from a nearby village. It’s great to see businesses, public bodies, community bodies and charities are already working together effectively in the group. I look forward to supporting the members to deliver an ambitious programme for change, helping Enfield Town to be a place of which we can all be proud.”
The Action Team is currently developing a programme of events and activities, supported by UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF) to help animate Enfield Town centre over the summer. More details will be shared on this page in the coming weeks.
