Enfield Town Liveable Neighbourhood improvements under way

Construction is now under way on the next phase of the Enfield Town Liveable Neighbourhood project. Improvements are being delivered as part of Phase 2A of the project following statutory consultation earlier this year.

Phase 2A brings a range of improvements along Church Street, including wider pedestrian crossings and the introduction of a 24-hour bus lane permitting buses, taxis, motorcyclists and cyclists. New planting on Fountain Island and in front of the Market Square will create greener spaces that improve the look and feel of the town centre.

Cllr Sabri Ozaydin, Cabinet Member for Environment and Placemaking, recently visited the site to meet the team delivering the work.

Work is expected to be completed in January 2026 and Enfield Council are working with our construction partners Kenson Highways to minimise the impact on local residents and businesses.
