Launch of the Enfield Town Steering Group

We are delighted to announce the formation of the Enfield Town Steering Group. The group has held its first meetings, launching a pilot phase for a new model of local partnership working. The group brings together representatives from community, cultural and voluntary organisations, local businesses and the public sector. The Steering Group has been created to build local capacity, champion the co-ordination of existing activities and launch new initiatives to improve the town centre, ensuring it remains a safe, welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.
Enfield Council has provided initial funding to support this pilot phase, including a project budget of £10,000. The group will work collaboratively to determine how these funds are used to deliver projects that respond to local needs and priorities.

Over the coming months, the Steering Group will shape a programme of Town Centre activation and explore how to make the most of its pilot funding. Future activities will include the recruitment of an independent chair and administrative role to support the group in working together to identify opportunities that strengthen Enfield Town Centre.
One of the groups first actions is inviting local people to take part in a survey to help better understand community priorities that might shape their next steps. You can view a flyer the group has produced here and complete the survey here.
