Notice of Church Street Resurfacing Works
Following a recent assessment of the highway, the carriageway on Church Street requires resurfacing to address issues that have been identified and to maintain the condition of the road.
When will the works take place?
These works will begin on Monday 27 July 2026 and are expected to take up to one week to complete. Works will take place overnight, between 10pm and 5am. During the overnight construction periods there will be no vehicular access to Church Street. Signed diversions will be in place, and we ask that all road users follow the signage to help ensure the works can be completed as planned.
The road will reopen to vehicles at 5am each morning.
How will we manage the impact on residents and businesses?
We understand that works like this can be disruptive, and we appreciate your patience while these essential repairs are carried out. Some noise is expected while the works are taking place due to the use of machinery and construction vehicles. We will keep noise to a minimum wherever possible, particularly during the later hours to reduce disruption to residents and businesses nearby.
While we will take all necessary precautions to minimise impact, there will be times when access will not be possible, therefore we ask that you make alternative arrangements where possible to ensure that your deliveries remain unaffected.
