Enfield Council is working to encourage more people to walk, wheel and cycle in the borough by developing a network of active travel routes in Enfield. As part of the Journeys and Places programme, Enfield Council is proposing a walking and cycling route which will extend from Old Park Road N13 at its junction with Aldermans Hill, and end at Cycleway 1 at Sweet Briar Grove at its junction with Denton Road.
The route will run through the Fox Lane Quieter Neighbourhood, and will connect with Cycleway 20 at Green Lanes, run through Firs Farm wetlands, connect with Cycleway 21 at Northern Avenue at its junction with Dunholme Road. There are opportunities to review and make improvements to the existing facilities along the route, as well as introduce new facilities for walking and cycling.
This project is currently at a very early stage with no designs having been developed yet. The development of the designs as well as the delivery of the project is subject to further funding. Should further funding be secured, Enfield Council will look to design and then implement the project.
