The block-paved junction was introduced under the Council’s High Street Improvement Scheme of 2017. Within the Council’s ongoing monitoring, it notes that parking and loading often occurs overly close to the crossing points and on the central median, potentially blocking drivers’ line of sight to the crossing points and to pedestrians stepping into the road. Parking and loading controls are proposed to better regulate kerbside activity at this location.
