New School Streets for Firs Farm and Highfield Primary Schools

Following the statutory consultation TG52/1600, the decision has been made to introduce School Street for Firs Farm and Highfield Primary Schools.

Construction will begin during the week commencing Monday, 02nd March 2026, and is expected to take approximately three weeks.

Residents and parents have been informed about the upcoming works and will receive further updates when the scheme is ready to launch.

These projects, part of Enfield Council’s Journeys and Places programme, will increase the total number of School Streets in Enfield to 29. School Streets help create safer and healthier environments for children to travel to school by walking, wheeling, scooting, cycling, and other forms of active and sustainable travel.

A map of the School Street zone for Firs Farm Primary School is shown below. The School Street will operate on:

  • Rayleigh Road
  • Harlow Road
  • Harrington Terrace
  • Kipling Terrace

Once live, the School Street will operate between 8:30am to 9:30am and 3pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday, during school term times.

  • Highfield Road
  • Cedars Road
  • Stanbridge Place
  • Carpenter Gardens

Once live, the School Street will operate between 8:30am to 9:15am and 2:45pm to 3:45pm, Monday to Friday, during school term times.
