New School Streets launching at Eversley and Merryhills Primary Schools

We are delighted to announce that the School Streets for Eversley Primary and Merryhills Primary will launch on Monday 28 April 2025. School Streets help create a safer and healthier environment around schools by reducing vehicle movements near school gates during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

The School Street zone for Eversley Primary School will include Oakwood Crescent and Eversley Close, operating between 8:00am to 9:00am and 2:30pm to 3:30pm from Monday to Friday during term time.

The School Street zone for Merryhills Primary School will include Glenbrook South and Chiltern Dene, operating between 8:15am to 9:15am and 3:00pm to 4:00pm from Monday to Friday during term time.

The decision to introduce these School Streets follows a statutory consultation held from 4 December 2024 to 12 January 2025. With construction soon to be completed, we have been finalising the necessary systems to support their operation. The School Streets will be enforced using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras. Vehicles entering the School Street zones during the hours of operation without an exemption will be issued a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

Some exemptions are available. Exempted vehicles can pass through the School Street zone at all times, including during the hours of operation. Applications for exemptions are now open. The table below includes information on who is eligible for an exemption and how to apply. Please note that exemptions are not automatically applied, and those eligible should follow the process outlined to ensure their vehicle is registered.
