School Streets Update for Firs Farm and Highfield Primary Schools
We are creating safer, healthier streets around Firs Farm Primary School and Highfield School, making it easier for children and families to walk, wheel and cycle to school.
Construction is now complete, with signs and infrastructure in place. The School Street at Firs Farm and Highfield Primary School will be live from 24 March 2026
What’s happening now
We are currently finalising the permit application system.
Until this is in place, no enforcement will take place. In the meantime, we ask everyone to follow the School Street timings to help create a safer and more pleasant environment for the school community.
Permits and enforcement
Eligible residents, businesses and other exempt groups will be able to apply for a free permit.
We will contact you again later this Spring with full details on:
When applications open
How to apply
When enforcement will begin
There will be a period between applications opening and enforcement starting, so there will be plenty of time to apply.
Please wait until you hear from us before submitting any applications.
