Statutory Consultation - Chesterfield Primary, Latymer All Saints Primary & Prince of Wales Primary
Following the successful implementation of 20 School Streets across the borough, Enfield Council are expanding the initiative to more schools and are proposing School Streets at the following locations:
- Chesterfield Primary School - Chesterfield Road
- Latymer All Saints Primary School – Granham Gardens & Dunholme Road to the junction with Northern Avenue
- Prince Of Wales Primary School - Salisbury Road
School Streets are delivered by the Council’s Journeys and Places programme which empowers people in Enfield to make sustainable choices for themselves, their community and our planet. We invite you to take part in the statutory consultation on draft traffic order TG52/1552 to share your views on the School Streets.
A ‘School Street’ is an area transformed into a walking and cycling zone operating Monday to Friday during school term time at set periods for pick up and drop off times. School Streets aim to:
- Ensure the safety of school students as they arrive and leave school
- Improve air quality around the school
- Encourage more young people to walk, cycle or scoot to school.
Details of the proposals and draft traffic orders can be found in the Documents section on the right hand side of this project page and will be uploaded shortly onto the Council website here. We invite residents, businesses, school staff, parents and any other interested stakeholders to take part in the statutory consultation. Please make your representation or objection in writing stating the grounds on which it is being made and quoting the reference TG52/1552 no later than 11.59pm on Sunday 7 January 2024. You can make a representation or objection in one of the following ways:
- Via the survey at https://letstalk.enfield.gov.uk/SchoolStreets
- By email to journeysandplaces@enfield.gov.uk
- In writing to: Journeys and Places, Enfield Council, Silver Street, Enfield, EN1 3XA
Following the statutory consultation, a summary of objections and representations will be produced. Enfield Council will provide a response and use the comments received to make a decision on whether or not to implement the School Streets.
