Update on School Streets at Enfield County School for Girls (Lower School) and Highfield Primary School

We are continuing to support safer, healthier streets around Enfield County School for Girls (Lower School) and Highfield Primary School, helping children and families to walk, wheel and cycle to school.

Update on enforcement

There have been some delays to the installation and configuration of the enforcement cameras. Enforcement is expected to begin at the start of the next school year, from September 2026.

Until enforcement begins, no penalties will be issued. We ask everyone to continue following the School Street timings to help keep the area safe and welcoming for the school community. School street timings operate during term time, Monday to Friday:

  • Enfield County School for Girls (Lower School) – 8:00am to 9:00am and 3:00pm to 3:45pm
  • Highfield Primary School - 8:30am to 9:15am and 2:45pm to 3:45pm

Permits

Eligible residents, businesses and other exempt groups will be able to apply for a free permit. We will write to residents in the local vicinity of Enfield County School for Girls and Highfield once the permit system and camera configuration have been confirmed. This will include details on how to apply if eligible, and when enforcement will begin.
