This project has now concluded.
Enfield Council's Journeys and Places programme enables and encourages people in Enfield to make sustainable daily journeys for themselves and for our planet. We are connecting people for a greener, healthier future.
We are seeking ideas for 'Quick Win' projects for walking and cycling infrastructure, as well as ideas for new walking and cycling routes.
Quick Wins
Maybe there is route that would benefit from a wayfinding sign? Or a barrier on a path that needs to be removed? Or an alleyway that could be resurfaced with a shared cycle lane and pedestrian path?
Some examples of Quick Win ideas for the borough are shown to the right of this page.
What are your ideas? Using the first map below, place your ideas using the pins and describe your Quick Win idea.
New Walking and Cycle Routes
Enfield Council are committed to creating a connected network of safe cycle routes throughout the borough. Our work to enable people to walk and cycle for short journeys addresses both the pressures on our road system as well as pressures on the NHS in tackling the effects of obesity. The Council believes it is essential that it provides the infrastructure to encourage people to cycle local trips safely. If the Council does not invest in new infrastructure, the borough’s roads will become more and more congested. By encouraging people to cycle more and drive less we hope to see a reduction in pollution from motor vehicles.
Our Active Travel Map (listed to the right of this page) shows where we already have plans to develop new cycle routes.
We would like to hear your ideas for future cycle routes in Enfield. To add your idea, place a pin on the second map below in the location where you would like to see a future cycle route. Please add as much detail as possible. As funding becomes available we will look into the ideas suggested on this map.
