Statutory consultation - FY24/25 Micro-Mobility Bays
Enfield Council is committed to enabling more people to walk, wheel, cycle and travel by other forms of active travel. As part of our Journeys and Places programme we provide cycle parking in residential areas, town centres, transport hubs and other key destinations.
We are proposing to install a Micro-mobility Bay outside No. 2 Ladysmith Road N18, No. 41 Leyburn Road N18, Nos. 67/69 Princes Avenue N13, Nos. 65/67 Russell Road N13, Nos. 100/102 Somerset Road N18 and Nos. 93/95 Wilbury Way N18. We are informing you about the statutory consultation on the draft traffic order regarding these Bays. The Micro-Mobility Bay is a smart solution for quickly converting road space into bike and e-scooter parking. It provides either six or twelve protected spaces, fitting neatly into the same area as a regular car parking bay. This helps keep streets tidy by reducing random bike parking against railings and other street fixtures. These bays work well for both regular bikes and rental schemes without fixed docking stations.
You can view the design here.
We invite residents and anyone interested to provide an objection or representation to the draft traffic order through the statutory consultation. The statutory consultation is open until midnight on 15th December 2024. Any objection or representation must be made in writing, quoting the reference TG52/1570 and must state the grounds on which it is made. You can complete this survey to submit your objections or representations, or alternatively:
- email us at journeysandplaces@enfield.gov.uk, or
- write to us at: Journeys and Places, Enfield Council, Silver Street, Enfield, EN1 3XA.
Following the statutory consultation, a summary of the objections and representations will be produced. Enfield Council will provide a response and use the comments received to make a decision on whether or not to make the proposed changes.
