Next tranche of lamp post chargers to be installed

Following statutory consultation, we will soon begin installing the next tranche of Char.gy electric vehicle (EV) chargers on lamp columns.

At the time of writing, the following set/s have been approved to proceed to installation (this list will be updated should future sets be approved):

Enfield Council is aiming to deliver 1,000 new charge points on existing streetlight columns, making it easier for residents, particularly those without access to off-street parking, to charge their vehicles close to home. Our delivery partner, Char.gy, is leading the rollout, with around 8-10 chargers expected to be installed each day as part of this initial phase.

This rollout forms part of our wider ambition to create a comprehensive and accessible EV charging network, helping support cleaner air, reduce carbon emissions and enable more residents to make the switch to electric vehicles.

We’ll continue to keep residents updated as installation progresses and as further consultation batches are launched. In the meantime, residents can still suggest locations for future charge points here.
