Fountain Island Design: Participant Hub

Consultation has concluded

Thank you for taking part in the Enfield Town Public Space Design Workshop for Fountain Island. This workshop is part of the Let’s Talk Enfield Town project that is about engaging the Enfield community on what they'd like to see in the future for Enfield Town.

Your participation represents a direct opportunity for you to shape the future of Enfield Town, one of the Borough’s most important and prominent town centre locations. Enfield Council is committed to investing in our town centres to deliver improvements that will transform them for the long-term.

This participant hub provides you with all the information you need to be able to participate in the workshop session. On the right hand side, you will find relevant documents about the project, a Frequently Asked Questions section that we will continue to update, important links, related projects, photos and information about who will be listening to the ideas and suggestions you provide as part of the workshop.

We will be emailing you the details of the workshop session which will be taking place on Zoom. As a reminder, an introductory session for all workshop attendees will take place on Thursday 15th October 2020. Following that, the Fountain Island workshop is scheduled to take place on Thursday 22nd October 2020, starting at 6pm and finishing at 8pm. The details for both of these sessions will be emailed to you.

We ask that you come prepared for the workshop by:

  • Attending the Introductory Workshop on Thursday 15 October 2020 at 6.30 - 8pm on Zoom. The details of this workshop have been emailed to you. Individuals taking part in all four Public Space Design Workshops will be in attendance, and the focus will be on introducing you to the project and each space, helping you to understand what you will be doing in the Fountain Island Workshop, and answering questions from participants.
  • Familiarising yourself with the files available under the Documents section of this page, including the blank plan of Fountain Island. We will be using this for one of the workshop activities, so please familiarise yourself with it so that you are aware of what is and is not in scope.
  • Share your story of the space using the Discussion Board below 'Pre-workshop Discussion Forum: Your Story'. If you have specific ideas, drawings or photos you would like to share in advance of the workshop, you are welcome to upload them using the 'Ideas' tool below also.
  • Come equipped to the workshop with insights about the space, based on your experience and ideas about its future.

If you have any questions about the materials that are contained on this page or you require any further information, please contact Oliver Deed on 0203 963 2642. We are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday 22nd October for the Introductory Workshop.

Welcome to the discussion board for participants of the Fountain Island Design Workshop! You can use this before the session takes place to share some initial feedback about yourself and any initial ideas you have had about the project.

You can use this to share:

    • Your name
    • If you are representing an organisation or group, the name of the organisation and your role
    • Your connection to Fountain Island (do you wall through there often, do you work for a local business that could use the space for outdoor dining or activities, do your children play)
    • What you are hoping to get out of the Fountain Island Design Workshop

We look forward to hearing your experiences of Fountain Island and how we can design this space for the future through this forum and the upcoming workshop.
