Consultation has concluded
Following previous engagement with local residents to consider measures in the Fernleigh Road Quieter Neighbourhood area to reduce through-traffic, we will be introducing a trial Point No Entry in Stonard Road, near its junction with Avondale Road on 10 June 2019.
The Point No Entry will prevent traffic travelling westbound along Stonard Road past Avondale Road. Eastbound traffic along Stonard Road will remain unaffected by the trial and two-way traffic will remain either side of the Point No Entry. The trial aims to provide a more attractive, safer, healthier environment for residents, pedestrians and cyclists.
As part of the trial, double yellow lines will be introduced either side of the Point No Entry, resulting in the loss of two to three on-street parking spaces, to allow it to operate and provide room for larger vehicles to turn into Avondale Road.
The trial period will operate for a period of up to 18 months under an Experimental Traffic Order. This will allow time to monitor traffic data and feedback before any decision is made to make the order permanent.
To make sure that your views are represented please complete our short survey below before 9 December 2019.
