The Journeys and Places team is working with the community to transform Edmonton Green into a Town Centre that is greener, safer and more welcoming for everyone.

Building on the success of the Pavilion on The Green, which hosted over 100 events since its opening in June ’24, we are now inviting local people to help us shape the future of Edmonton Green.

Integration, Partnership, Independence

Edmonton Green is one of Enfield’s main town centres. Located in the east of the borough, it is served by the Overground and it’s a short walk north of Angel Edmonton. The town centre is dominated by the 10-hectare Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, which is set to be redeveloped over the next 10-15 years with a new market, commercial space and over 1000 new homes coming to the area.

Our objective is to ensure that the strong sense of community in the area is not only maintained but strengthened over these years of transformation.

Town Centre Vision

Transformation from a shopping centre to a place with an identified heart which links with and acknowledges all its elements—from the market to the station, the shops to the Green itself. It is a place with a diverse, independent offer, which benefits from strong collaborative management.

Following on from the community engagement over the last two years, we are creating a new space for local businesses to trade near the Overground Station, bringing new life to a key public space in the Town Centre

With The Green continuing to serve as a space for community activities, we are developing a long term strategy for this area, exploring how the railway arches could be brought to life for community and commercial use and considering how restoring the Salmon’s Brook could create a vibrant, biodiverse and welcoming space at the heart of Edmonton Green.

A Month of Sundays, Enfield’s hugely popular summer festivals of music, performance, entertainment and street food, has returned this year to five locations around the borough!

A Month of Sundays kicked off in Enfield Town on Sunday 31 July and is expected to have attracted thousands of people.

Last year, the five free street festivals and two fringe events welcomed 47,100 attendees, 50 local businesses who sold food and drink and 123 performers who entertained the crowds with music, dance, spoken word and more.

These family-friendly events take place 12pm to 6pm and are free to attend. Look out for Enfield favourites Sissy Lea, Janet Kay, Chickenshed Theatre, Platinum street dancers and a wealth of talent including performances from DJ Bradshaw, TikTokers @TheLewisSisters and Victor Romero Evans. More acts will be announced on the website and on social media #AMonthofSundays
