This public art commission is delivered as part of the Journeys and Places' Curate Enfield programme, a grassroots public art initiative creating new public artworks for Enfield - one for each of our town centres and priority areas. Young people and community leaders from across the borough have been recruited as ‘Public Art Champions’ to curate a public art commission to transform a site in their town centre.
Please download the Artist's Brief (also saved under key documents at the top of the right-hand side menu of the main project page) for further details about this commission and how to apply. The public art champion for Edmonton Green, has also created a video walk-through of the site of the public artwork, which can be viewed here.
We welcome submissions from creatives from a range of artistic disciplines and encourage artists from all backgrounds to apply. We particularly welcome proposals from creatives who identify as Black and/or as belonging to diverse ethnic communities; and from creatives who identify as disabled and/or neuro-divergent. Design The Green
Share Design The Green on Facebook Share Design The Green on Twitter Share Design The Green on Linkedin Email Design The Green linkThank you to everyone who took part and provided feedback at the Design The Green event on Saturday 5th August. We welcomed over 100 people, sharing the initial design ideas for the forthcoming Pavilion on The Green, which will be installed in Summer 2024. Due to inclement weather, the event was moved into Edmonton Green Library.
The event was curated with young people from Exodus Youthworx, as part of a co-design workshop held at Croylands Youth Centre on 26th July. Doodle Designs and Exodus Youthworx delivered 'The Green Scene' - picnic, games and music while gathering aspirations for the future of The Green, while artist Amaechi Anolue provided entertaining caricatures for local residents.
Here you can find photos from the co-design workshop as well as on the day, and see which emerging pavilion design was most supported.
