The Pavilion Summer Party on Saturday 16th August was a hit. The event was filled with a whole range of interactive, hands-on creative activities and fun for all ages, including water pistol painting, arts & crafts, henna, jewellery making and outdoor games.

We also celebrated the birthday of a special member of the community who turned 3 on the day. There was lots of cake and of course a chorus of happy birthday.

In addition to the fun and activities had on the day, we had a very successful engagement session with just over 70 people on the new Edmonton Green Meanwhile Trading Project that will be delivered on The Green in spring next year. The session was held alongside Fisher Cheng who are the Architects for the project. The engagement session was an opportunity to present the concept design for the project and to ask residents and visitors what sort of businesses they would like to see trading in the area. There was also the opportunity to provide feedback and ideas for the project.

This event was organised in partnership with Exodus Youth Worx, Northside Youth, Doodle Design with the support of Enfield Council. Please keep an eye out for our next community activity to learn more about what is going on in Edmonton Green and we look forward to seeing you there.

The design for a temporary Pavilion on The Green, which will be on site for the next 3 years, has been developed by Fisher Cheng with the local community during the engagement events in Summer ’23. The Pavilion is designed as an open structure without perimetral walls and consists of a decked area of approximately 40 sqm to host performance and community activities. Its roof is open but integrates a shading system to offer coverage in Summer. Lighting and an electrical point are provided, to support a wide range of events at any time of the day.
Construction works for the Pavilion will start on The Green in April and will be completed at the beginning of June.
A programme of community and cultural activities will be held in the Pavilion over Summer ’24 to regularly activate the space. This will include the Untold Edmonton Festival, a cultural programme exploring Edmonton’s rich and diverse history supported by Enfield Council and funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
